🔄 Using Medisafe on Different Devices in Different Time Zones - Use 'Medfriend' Instead

Currently, Medisafe does not support using the same account on multiple devices in different time zones. Doing so can cause sync issues, including: inaccurate reminder times, shifted medication schedules, conflicting dose history between devices, etc.

To avoid time zone-related issues:

  • Use the main Medisafe account on the device that shares the same time zone as the person taking the medications.

  • On the second device (in a different time zone), use the Medfriend feature to stay connected and receive notifications for missed meds.

👥 How Medfriend Works

Medfriend is designed for family members, caregivers, or trusted contacts. It allows someone to:

  • View the medication schedule

  • Get notified if a dose is missed (when no action is taken on the notification - no option was tapped)

Medfriend Notification Timing

  • Medisafe sends a Medfriend notification 30 minutes after the final reminder for a dose.

  • This is typically 1 hour after the scheduled time.

  • The timing is not currently customizable, but we plan to improve this feature in the future.

Security Note

  • Medfriends have view-only access and cannot edit the other person's medications or schedule.

  • This helps protect the user’s medication data from accidental or unauthorized changes.

🧭 How to Invite a Medfriend

To add a Medfriend:

  1. Open the Medisafe app

  2. Tap your profile avatar

  3. Select "Invite Medfriend"

  4. Follow the steps to send an invitation

The invited Medfriend will receive instructions to connect their device to the account.
